Physical Therapy at Thrive, LLC

“Jody has treated me for low back pain, elbow tendonitis, and just recently a second knee replacement. Each treatment has resulted in a full recovery. Due to the relationship we have built over the years, I have total confidence in the successful treatment of any future PT needs I may have. That makes looking at future surgeries or risking any sport injury a little less stressful.” - Jackie N.
“I am impressed with how Jody continues her education in physical therapy and how she figured out what worked and didn’t work for me. She taught me how to manage my pain through my own self care. Working with Jody has been a life changing experience for the better.” - Jane P.
“Today I can say that I am an active 69 year old male who downhill and skate skis, hikes, cycles extensively and does the work on a small urban farm. Whenever I know anyone who needs a physical therapist, I always tell them to see Jody Thatcher at Thrive.” – Al K.

She completed part of her undergraduate work at University of Nevada, Las Vegas and completed her Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences at Loma Linda University. She is the founder and owner of Physical Therapy at Thrive, LLC which opened July 2009.

Jody completed her Pilates certification on the reformer in 2008. She became a Credentialed Clinical Instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) in 2010 and has been a member of the APTA since 1993. Jody has remained current in her field with a variety of topics of continuing education. The courses she has attended involving manual therapy, differential diagnosis and business development have been the most influential in her practice. She has completed additional training regarding the treatment of special populations including pregnant and post-partum clients and cyclists and runners. She is certified in Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (SASTM).

Throughout her career, Jody has focused on forming working relationships with her patients based on mutual trust and respect. As a result, most of her patient load includes people that she has known for several years as well as their close friends and family. She believes that her most useful tool is listening to her patients. Meeting them where they are in the moment helps her empower patients in ways that are achievable for them which results in a mutually satisfying outcome. In her role as the clinic owner she gets the most enjoyment out of encouraging employee growth and development. She is constantly brainstorming ways to improve the patient’s experience, help the practice to run more efficiently, and create a great work environment.

Jody lives in the North End with her husband Matt and their son Oliver. She loves practicing yoga, mountain biking, hiking, and Nordic and alpine skiing. She also enjoys gardening, traveling and any sort of creative project. Her absolute favorite way to spend her free time is to experience the world, as if it is brand new again, through the eyes of her child.
